Broncos baseball open with a win

The 2018 high school baseball season got underway on Friday afternoon, mainly due to some fast field work against Mother Nature. The field was completely covered in snow on Monday, and crews of workers from the Blackfoot team and boosters not only got the snow scraped off the field, but got it dry enough to play the first high school game of the season Friday.
The unlucky visitors in this case were the Burley Bobcats, who traveled from the Magic Valley to take on the home standing Broncos of Blackfoot and the Broncos showed why coach Liam Pope has been so optimistic about his teams chances this year. In the end, the Broncos used three pitchers to throw a three hit shutout on their way to the season opening win 3-0.
