Blackfoot sweeps pair from Bear Lake 12-2, 10-3

BLACKFOOT — Offense, offense and more offense.
That was what the Blackfoot Broncos put on display on Tuesday afternoon against the visitors from Bear Lake.
The Broncos pounded out 19 hits and 22 runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Bears 12-2 in five innings and 10-3 at Blackfoot High School on a very warm Tuesday afternoon.
But it was not just the offense that the Broncos showcased on Tuesday, the Broncos also got two very good starts from pitchers Kyle Scott and Brady Pearson.
In game one Scott pitched his way out of a pair of bases loaded jams in the opening three innings to keep the game scoreless.
After getting the first two outs in in the top of the first, Scott loaded the bases on a single, walk and hit batter.
But he got Wyatt Anderson popped out to end the inning.
The bases were loaded again in the third by the Bears, this time with no outs as the Bears got a double, single and walk to start the inning.
Scott toughened up getting a ground ball and a pair of strikeouts to pitch out the jam for a second time.

Ironically enough, Scott was the starter of the big inning at the plate.
Scott singled to start the inning he moved to third after a walk and a dropped third strike.

After RBI hits from Conner Kershaw, Jode Stephensen and Russell Osborn, Scott closed out the inning with a two-RBI single of his own to give the Broncos a 7-0 lead.
Alx Martinez tacked on another run for the Broncos in the fourth with his RBI double to left field to drive in Taylor Pearson who walked to start the inning.
Blackfoot closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth with four RBI hits by Pearson, Martinez, Brady Trappett and and game ending double by Cade Adakai.
Scott led four Broncos with two hits in the game as he went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. He also struck out five Bears hitters during his five inning complete game.
In game two the Broncos had a pair of big innings to earn the win and Brady Pearson was light's out on the mound keeping the Bear Lake hitters in check all evening long.
Bear Lake got a run in the top of the first when Mitch Lauridsen doubled to deep right center field.
The Bears would only get fur more hits and two runs the rest of the game.
Pearson allowed the Bears two runs and three of the four hits in the fourth inning.
Blackfoot answered the Bears first inning run with five of their own in the bottom of the first inning.
Scott had and RBI single to kick things off.
A Bear Lake error allowed two more runs to score and a wild pitch brought in another.
Martinez closed out the first inning with an RBI single of his own.
Kershaw added another Broncos run in the third with a groundout.
Taylor Pearson started the fourth inning scoring with a sacrifice fly, Brady Pearson followed with an RBI single of his own, Tyus Hansen capped off everything with an RBI single to give the Broncos a 9-3 lead.
Blackfoot scored one more run in the sixth before Pearson closed out the game in the seventh to give the Broncos the sweep.
