Lady Broncos looking to make a statement

BLACKFOOT — When first year head coach Alisha Yeates and her team talked prior to the 2013 season, the team set the goal to just improve over last season.
But when the season was all said and done the Lady Broncos had a little more success than anyone in District 5/6 was expecting.

Panthers, Cougars reach district title games

AMERICAN FALLS — Over the past three years the Snake River High School volleyball team has established its dominance over the rest of the competition in the 3A Fifth District.
The Lady Panthers have been crowned district champions in each season earning the automatic state tournament berth that comes with it.
Tuesday at American Falls High School the Lady Panthers began their quest for a fourth consecutive district title with a straight set win over Bear Lake 25-17, 25-15, 25-8.

Next stop, the state soccer tourney

POCATELLO — As the final seconds ticked down in Saturday’s winner-to-state game between the Blackfoot Lady Broncos and Preston, the Blackfoot faithful that made the trip down to Century High School began to stir with excitement as there were just mere seconds separating Blackfoot form an appearance in next week’s state soccer tournament.
The Preston fans were string too, but this was in disapointment as the No. 2 seed in there District 5/6 tournament was about to handed its second 1-0 loss of the tournament by the lady Broncos.

Firth wins district crown with a 45-6 win over North Fremont

championship and secured
the number one seed for
the State Class 2A playoffs.
They sent a message to the
rest of the state that they
are hungry to bring home a

BLACKFOOT — Trailing 28-20 and with less than two minutes left in the game the Broncos were facing a fourth and eight deep in their own territory.
Broncos freshman quarterback Payson Hayes, who had played most of the second half needed to make a play.

Lady Broncos come ohh, so close

POCATELLO — Prior to Thursday's 4A District 5/6 championship game against Century, Blackfoot head coach Alisha Yeates told her team she wanted to start fast and get on the board early.
It took less than three minutes for Cassandra Clarke to take advantage of a Century turnover and put the ball in the back of the net.
Clarke scored the equalizing goal in the second half, but halfway through the first overtime Century's Sydney McRoberts scored the game-winner as Century won the district title 3-2 on Thursday and taking the state tournament berth as well.

Lady Panthers lock up top seed with win

THOMAS — For the five senior on the Snake River High School volleyball team Wednesday night's regular season finale against Marsh Valley was not only senior night and the chance to lock up the top spot in next week's 3A Fifth District volleyball tournament, it was also the final time the group which has played together since fourth grade would play together at Snake River High School.

POCATELLO — A week ago the Preston girls soccer team cost the Blackfoot Lady Broncos a first round bye in this week's 4A District 5/6 tournament with a 3-2 season ending win in Preston.
Tuesday the Lady Broncos had chance at redemption as the two met at Century High School in the district tournament with a berth in Thursday's district title game on the line.
