BLACKFOOT — Chris Cahall has a lot to be thankful for this year—she received a kidney transplant on Thanksgiving day after more than four years on the organ donation waiting list.
Cahall, 45, grew up in Blackfoot and now lives in Moore. She has been a diabetic since she was nine years old. It was about 10 years ago when her kidneys began showing signs of failure, and four and one-half years ago she went into stage 5 renal failure.
She has been on hemodialysis since, and has been patiently waiting all that time for a kidney donation.

The shooting took place on the same day Virginia Tech officials were in Washington, fighting a government fine over their alleged mishandling of the 2007 bloodbath.
BLACKFOOT — Jen Grover and Jaclyn Falter are single mothers with a dream and a goal.
They want to support their children — Grover has four and Falter three — and they want to succeed as chocolatiers.
They are opening Lola’s Chocolates at 10 NW Main, the corner of Bridge and NW Main. They will celebrate their grand opening during the 7th annual Winter Walk on Saturday and are open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“We figured we may as well go for it,” Grover said of opening the shop. “If you don’t go for your dreams, you’re never going to go.”
