BLACKFOOT â A pool of 30 potential jurors was selected Wednesday for the second trial involving a former Blackfoot High School athlete, set to begin later this month.
The trial will be for Logan Chidester, who currently faces six misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and two battery charges. His trial is scheduled to begin March 22.
Warren Israel âIsâ Merrill lost his courageous battle with Alzheimerâs disease on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Is was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Clifton to R.D. and Lucile Stoddard Merrill. He grew up in a family of 13 children (11 boys and 2 girls). Raised on the family farm, he learned how to work hard and be proud of the work he accomplished.
Darreld Walton, 81, of Blackfoot passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the Bingham Hospital.
Funeral services are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home and will be announced.
Joann Jensen, 64, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Blackfoot 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 660 Teton Road, in Blackfoot.
Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot, and for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@hawkerfuneralhome.com.
Robert Mark Robison, 74, died Friday, Feb, 25, 2011 in Boise.
He was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Richfield, Utah, to Mark Asa Robison and DeNiese Sayer.
A Jehovahâs Witness since his youth, he was an active member until his death.
Bob grew up in Blackfoot and married Joyce Maree Gray on June 9, 1958. They had four children; Marty Mark, Kirk Robert, Michael Alexander and Molinda Maree. Bob worked in the roofing business. They lived 10 years in Hailey and built a unique, beautiful log home near the Wood River. Next, they lived in Alaska five years before moving back to Boise.

BLACKFOOT â Jury pre-qualification began Tuesday in the second trial involving a former Blackfoot High School athlete, with 11 jurors passed for cause after the first day of voir dire.
Eighty-three jurors arrived Tuesday morning for jury selection in the trial for Logan Chidester. Chidester faces six counts of misdemeanor false imprisonment and two counts of battery. His trial is scheduled to begin March 22.
BLACKFOOT â Bingham County commissioners will soon be introduced to youngsters attending Head Start at the Blackfoot Center, 206 N. Ash, Blackfoot.
Commissioners have volunteered to read to the youngsters in the near future.
The ages of Head Start kids range from 3-years-old to 5.
"Now days, children are expected to know their colors and numbers and be pre-readers before entering kindergarten," said Michelle Dye, coordinator of Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (ECAP) Head Start Blackfoot Center.

 Interment will follow at the Moreland Cemetery.
Eric was born in Columbus, Ohio, where his father was stationed in the military. He lived his first four years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In 1965, the family moved from Ohio to California; in 1970, from California to Blackfoot. He died of an apparent heart attack in Kent, Wash.
