FORT HALL â€” A television production company is seeking a Shoshone man interested in acting for a role in the HBO miniseries "Lewis & Clark."
According to a press release sent by the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Rene Haynes Casting is asking interested individuals to send an audition tape. They can send their contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than May 20 to receive taping instructions.
The role is that of Cameahwait, the 30-year-old brother of Sacagawea.
GOODING (AP) â€” Treating addiction was sometimes as simple as holding someone's hand as their body convulsed from withdrawals.
This is how Dr. Douglas Smith helped detoxify alcoholics at the Salvation Army in Pasadena, Calif., in 1968. At the time, Smith was completing his internal medicine residency.
This type of detoxification was called "social detox." The withdrawal is tough, and severe cases required admitting the person to a hospital.

LOS ANGELES (AP) â€” When her muscles locked and left her unable to move or speak, Wallis Brozman was glad she had a genius for a service dog.
Brozman, who has a movement disorder called dystonia, had taken her golden-Labrador retriever mix, Caspin, outside for a potty break without attaching the pulling harness he wears to guide her. Suddenly, she couldn't move.
