Peter Clark Ward, 36

Peter Clark Ward, 36, of Blackfoot was peacefully reunited with his mom and loved ones on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at his home following a brief and sudden illness.
Peter was born May 23, 1974, in Pocatello to Daroll R. Ward and Bonnie K. Dimos. He attended school in the Blackfoot School District, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1992. Other than living in Salt Lake City for a short time, he spent his lifetime in Blackfoot.
Peter worked at various construction jobs. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling and spending time with friends.

Cless LeRoy Olney, 87

NAMPA — Cless LeRoy Olney, 87, of Nampa and formerly of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Karcher Estates in Nampa.
He was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Smithfield, Utah, the son of Hyrum LeRoy Olney and Annis Seamons.
He graduated from North Cache High School and attended Utah State University.
Cless served in the Army in Germany during World War II.
On March 19, 1948, he married Margaret Merrill. She preceded him in death. He then married Dorothy Carlson on Dec. 18, 1976, and she passed away July 21, 2003.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Arlis Lloyd Morris Jr., 64

Arlis Lloyd Morris Jr., 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Kathleen, Ga., on Jan. 20, 2011.
Lloyd was the second of four children born to Arlis Lloyd and Lena Myree Haynie Morris in Wichita Falls, Texas.  As a small child he moved with his family to Arco where his father worked as an electrician at the AEC (INEL). He attended schools in Butte County and excelled in football, basketball and track. Lloyd graduated in 1965.

Dr. Varon LeRoy Howell, known to many as Principal, mentor, teacher, and friend, graduated on February 3, 2011, with Honors from the school of mortality.
“Big V”, as many knew him, was born on March 9, 1929, to Reta (Fackrell) and Newell Howell in Blackfoot, ID. The locals knew him as fun-loving and outgoing. He was their High School basketball superstar!

Thelma Cossaboom, 92, of Pocatello passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at the Hillcrest Haven care center in Pocatello.

Beth Marion White, 93

Beth Marion White, 93, of Blackfoot passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at her home.
Beth was born at home on the family farm five miles southeast of Idaho Falls on Feb. 28, 1917, to Marcia Elizabeth Asper Twichel and Alvin Lester Twichel. She attended schools in the Idaho Falls School District and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1935, going on to college at Utah State University (then Agricultural College), graduating in 1938.

Barbara Dowd, 88, of Pocatello passed away peacefullyFriday, Jan. 28, 2011, at an assisted living center in Pocatello.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Betty M Peterson, 89, graduated from life while surrounded by people who loved her on Jan. 26, 2011.
She was born Beth Monk on May 2, 1921 in Plano, Idaho, into the loving family of Fredrick Lloyd and Charlotte Grace (Laswell) Monk and big sister Clarice. Her early years where filled with life on a farm, graduating from high school in Blackfoot and sailing through cosmetology school in Pocatello.

FORT HALL - Tamara Pocatello, 40, passed away at a local facility. Traditional Native American viewing and visitation will be held at the Racehorse-Robles residence on East Ballard Road and Highway 91 at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31. A funeral service will be held at the same location at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, and burial in the Cedar Cemetery on Reservation Road will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the family.
