Pedro Pelayo, Jr. 23, of Blackfoot passed away at his home, Monday, June 13, 2011.
He was born June 12, 1988 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Pedro Pelayo, Sr. and Bertha Alicia Moreno.
Pedro attended Blackfoot Schools and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 2006.Â He participated all four high school years on the soccer team.
On October 28, 2006, he married Angela Patricia Luna in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He joined the Marines and served from 2006-2008.
He was a parishioner of the Catholic Church.
Edith LaVerne Rainey Hall, 87, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Bingham Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Blackfoot.
Edith was born Sept. 1, 1923 in Annis, Idaho, to Roy Sylvanus Rainey and Ida Sophia DeRoche Rainey. At the age of 6 her family moved to the Teton Basin homestead of Cummer and Martha Leanora Hall. The Halls then moved to the Raineyâs property in Annis and later became Edithâs in-laws.
POCATELLO â Lorraine O. Mecham, 84, a lifelong resident of Pocatello, passed away on June 7, 2011, at Portneuf Medical Center after suffering a short illness.
Lorraine was born on March 22, 1927, to Albert Barnard and Elizabeth Herbst Olson in Groveland. She attended school first through eighth grades at Groveland and then graduated from Blackfoot High School.
After graduation, she and Marge Denney went to Pocatello and landed jobs from Mountain Bell, later being transferred back to Blackfoot.
Polly (Lankford) Heaney, 87, a long-time resident of Aberdeen, passed away on June 7, 2011.
She was born March 29, 1924 to William and Mariah (Whitaker) Lankford in Somerset, Kent. Three months before Polly was born, a tornado demolished their home. The family lived with relatives until they relocated to Indianapolis, Ind., where her father helped build the âBrickyard,â home of the Indy 500.
After 3 Â½ years they moved to Fort Collins, Colo., where Polly attended a one-room schoolhouse for a year.

Jean Mary VanSice was born in Helena, Mont. She attended Helena High School, then Montana State University in Bozeman, graduating in 1939.
She married Eugene F. Berry, also of Helena, in 1940. They had six children, spending 28 years in Blackfoot.
Jean was active at various times in League of Women Voters, PEO, Eastern Star, and was a member of DAR. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Following her husbandâs death in 1990, she lived in Boise; Coeur d âAlene; and Oregon City, Ore. She died at age 92.
Polly Heaney, age 87, A Long time resident of Aberdeen, passed away on June 7, 2011 at Spring Creek Independent Living in Boise.
A celebration of her life will be held June 25th at her home. A full obituary will follow.

POCATELLO â Lorraine O. Mecham, 84, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2011 at a local hospital.Â
Please note: Lorraineâs funeral will take place next week at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Holman Ward LDS Chapel, 4890 Whitaker Road, Chubbuck.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Burial will follow the services at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.Â

Joseph âJoeâ Oral Jacob, 81, of Blackfoot, Idaho, died of a long-term illness Tuesday at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Joseph was born in Victor, Idaho, to Luella and Joseph Jacob. Joseph, known to his family and friends as Joe, served as a first lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean War as a navigator instructor.
Joseph met and married the love of his life, Jannette Peterson, on Nov. 18, 1955, in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and lived in Albany. Joe and Jannette were happily married for 55 years at the time of his death.
Owen Lavell Durfee, 81, of Pingree passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the home of his daughter, Ann Sutton, in Twin Falls.
Owen was born April 13, 1930 in Tremonton, Utah, to Melvin Henry Durfee and Erma Sophia Johnson.Â He was raised until the age of six in Almo, then moved to Pocatello and remained there until 1973 when he moved to Pingree.Â He attended school in Pocatello.Â Owen served his country in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict.
On Aug. 28, 1953, Owen married Patty Lois Rhoades in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1959.
Whitney Owen Johnson, 91, of Groveland, passed away June 6, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital of old age.
He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in the farming community of Groveland.Â His parents, Michael Johnson Jr. and Elsie Mae Paskett Johnson, purchased an 80-acre dairy farm in Groveland where he would live and work for half his life.Â They also raised apples on the dairy farm.Â The Johnsons raised potatoes, beets, hay and snakes on a second farm at the end of Bond Road near the lavas.
