The case of documents signed by trustees of the Blackfoot School District and former superintendent Scott Crane begs the question, of course, what's next?
According to Idaho Code 67-2347 (1), "If an action …occurs at any meeting which fails to comply with the provisions of sections 67-2340 through 67-2346, Idaho Code, such action shall be null and void."
On Monday, the district admitted to violating the Idaho Open Meetings Law.
Interim Superintendent Chad Struhs said the board does realize the contract is now void. The trustees are working on deciding what to do, he said.
April Cox and Hugo Antonucci are mushers. They raise, rescue, re-home and race Huskies.
Cox is the daughter of Gayle and Luane Cox. She grew up in the Blackfoot area.
Antonucci was a senior configuration analyst for Rockwell Collins. He worked in the engineering core before he retired. Now he works with Huskies.
Cox and Antonucci each have brought eight-dog teams to compete in the West Yellowstone Sledding Race that begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday with the "Parade of Lights."
BLACKFOOT — Foul trouble reared it's ugly head at Blackfoot High School on Tuesday evening and for the home standing Lady Broncos, the trouble was all theirs as they were forced to sit a trio of their starters for a large portion of the first half of play against 5A Madison.
Madison took advantage of that as they poured in 51 first half points en route to an 80-52 win over the Lady Broncos.
Today, let’s celebrate 12. As all math teachers will tell you, the number 12 is divisible by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Three 12s in a row happens only once a century—today—on 12-12-12.
Dexter Gordon Hale celebrates turning 12 today. Dexter is the son of Dandee and Sarah Hale of Blackfoot. He was born at Bingham Memorial Hospital at 6:06 a.m.
Dexter attends the Blackfoot Sixth Grade Center and is active in basketball, baseball and football. He also plays the trombone.
Blackfoot residents reacted mostly with anger and disbelief to the news that Blackfoot School District trustees violated Idaho Open Meeting Laws and spent over $220,000 of taxpayer money on a separation agreement between the district and former superintendent Scott Crane; with many questions still unanswered.
